About Killamanjaro
Founded in 1969 by Noel 'Papa Jaro' Harper and originally named after Mount Kilimanjaro, the sound was later renamed 'KILLAMANJARO' after dominating the clash arena and becoming known as 'The Killing Machine.' The sound was a top force in both the live-artist era of the 1980s, launching careers of Super Cat, Ninjaman, and Early B, and the 1990s dubplate era with legendary selector Ricky Trooper. Trooper's ability to 'kill' sounds earned Jaro two World Clash titles. The King Addies vs. Killamanjaro clash is considered by many to be the greatest clash of all time.
