About Bodyguard
Founded in 1988 by Courtney Singh in Clarendon, Jamaica. Bodyguard made history as the first World Sound Clash Champion, winning the inaugural World Clash in London in 1993 against Saxon, Coxsone, and Afrique. Known for legendary dubplates like 'Bad Like Yaws' and 'Clarendon' voiced by Nicodemus, Bodyguard has put many sounds 'to rest' throughout their 35+ year career. The sound continues to dominate, winning the Reggae Sumfest Global Sound Clash in 2024. Founder Courtney Singh maintains an arsenal of foundation, modern-hit, and rare dubplates.
