About Black Scorpio
Founded in 1968 by Maurice 'Jack Scorpio' Johnson as a one-man operation, originally named 'Special I' before becoming Black Scorpio in 1972. Known as 'The Horseman Sound' due to Johnson's association with horse racing. Black Scorpio dominated the Jamaican sound clash scene and expanded into a record label in the early 1980s, producing hits for Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Yellowman, and Beenie Man.
