V Rocket

V. Rocket International was launched in 1964 from a living room in Nottingham by Dougie and Imogen Robinson, Windrush-era immigrants from Spanish Town, Jamaica. The hand-crafted sound built by Karl 'Legs the Giant' rose to become the UK's most powerful and feared sound system. In 1987, V. Rocket made history as the first UK sound to ship their entire system to Jamaica for a three-month tour. Lady V, 'Queen of the Culture,' created the UK Cup Clash and Winner Takes All events, keeping sound system culture thriving in the UK for over 60 years.
