About King Tubby's (UK)
Founded in March 1970 by Cecil Rennie, who came to the UK from St Thomas parish, Jamaica in 1965 as a teenager. Named in honor of legendary Jamaican dub master Osbourne Ruddock. Cecil served his apprenticeship on Duke Reid's Sound System until 1969, and at just 19 years old became one of the youngest UK sound system operators. Celebrating over 55 years in operation, King Tubby's is hailed as one of the most consistent sounds over the last five decades.
