King Turbo

King Turbo was birthed in Scarborough, Toronto in 1989 by Slingshot (Andrew Dillon) and Ricky Turbo (Metro), who were caught up in the vibrant dancehall scene sweeping North America. Representing Canada internationally with one of the most expensive dubplate collections in clash history (rumored at $750,000), they became three-time consecutive World Clash Champions in 2016, 2017, and 2018. The legendary bout between King Turbo and Super Fresh in August 1997 at Marina Banquet Hall is remembered as a defining moment in Toronto dancehall history. King Turbo continues as Canada's ambassador to sound clash culture worldwide.
